What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Wolosek Landscaping?
This individual will be asked to assist with loading and unloading of trucks at the beginning and/or end of each work day. Products that will be loaded, but are not limited too will be black dirt, sand, decorative rock, and landscape boulders. Our trucks will be loaded with the use of a front-end loader or excavator at our main retail yard, and will be weighed out with our certified scale. Once these trucks are loaded for the day, the Heavy Equipment Operator may be asked to assist with the landscape crews by operating heavy equipment in leveling of soil on new lawns, preparing a gravel base for patios or walls, and leveling road base for driveways. Also, this individual may be asked to assist with local deliveries, operating a 25,999 GVWR truck and make local deliveries within a 50-mile radius.
- 2 years of previous equipment operating experience preferred.
- Ability to competently operate skid steers, end loaders, tractors and excavators is required.
- The position also requires some physical labor and the candidate must be willing to perform manual labor when needed.
- May be required to work under inclement weather conditions: hot, cold, wind, rain and snow.
- Knowledge of setting grades for lawns, driveways and other areas of landscaping and excavating is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license. CDL preferred, but not required.
- Individuals will be asked to assist with snow removal services in the winter
