Wolter, Inc., a leader in the material handling industry, is seeking an Apprentice Technician to assist with service to our customers! Apprentice Technicians are responsible for shadowing Journeyman Shop Technicians to learn the skills and requirements for becoming a journeyman repair technician. Apprentice Technicians learn to properly diagnose and repair material handling equipment brought into our shop for repair – meeting and exceeding customer’s expectations. This position is located at our St. Louis, MO facility.
Position responsibilities :
- Complete all technical schooling provided by WLT

E-LearningOn-the-jobAssist journeyman technicians with service jobs as assigned to you.Develop skills to check-in and check-out our rental equipmentDevelop skills needed to properly set up new equipment sold to our customersDevelop skills needed to prepare stock used equipment so that it is ready for resale, per instructions providedWork with parts department for parts needed to complete repairsDocument all recommended additional repairs found, work with Shop Foreman or Lead Tech on preparing quote for customerCommunicate with the Shop Foreman, Shop Lead, and / or Shop Manager on any unusual service problems encountered or for any technical assistance needed.Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (timecards, maintenance reports etc).Communicate with Shop Foreman and / or lead tech as to status of jobs assigned to youOffer assistance to other shop techs, as appropriateKeep shop clean and organized – clean up spills (oil, etc) immediately.Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.To be successful, an Apprentice must possess the following :
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge / experienceGood troubleshootingCustomer serviceTime Management SkillsDependabilityBasic computer proficiency & laptop fundamentalsOwn tools necessary to perform repairs (per our recommended tool list)Certified to operate material handling equipment (We will provide this certification)Must be able to push, pull, and carry up to 60 lbs. and pass a pre-placement drug testWe offer a complete benefit package including :
