Wolverine Fire Protection is currently looking for a full-time Entry Level Safety Coordinator for a project in Holly Springs, NC.
Candidates must be in commutable distance – no per diem will be paid
This assignment will begin ASAP with an anticipated duration through September 2026.
Workdays will be 5 days a week with an 8-hour minimum shift.
Must be able to walk/stand for long periods of time.
To be considered for an Interview:
- 1 years of a safety experience preferably in industrial new construction site
- Applicants must have a strong commitment and proactive effort by employers and workers to identify, prevent, and mitigate potential hazards on a worksite
- OSHA 30
- Current certification in first aid, CPR and AED
At a minimum, the Safety Coordinator Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Read the site HSE Plan as well as the WFP HSE Plan and hold all personnel to it.
- Review all employee credentials and ensure they have what they need to complete the work scope, consistent with the HSE Plan.
- Review all JHAs to ensure accuracy and compliance. Update all JHAs as necessary.
- Maintain a complete understanding of the upcoming work tasks your crews are to engage in and ensure they are effectively planned, properly equipped, and dutifully monitored.
- Ensure all your personnel are trained per the HSE Plan.
- Conduct or monitor training for your personnel.
- Ensure all personnel are properly PPE-equipped for their work task.
- Review Project-specific work permits as necessary.
- Ensure the supervisor understands the SSoW process, how to complete the form, and that they are responsible for personnel working to plan.
- Ensure spill kits are in place and adequate for the equipment and polluting material.
- Ensure all your Competent Person forms are complete, accurate, and submitted to the customer.
- Ensure all equipment is inspected and marked by a Competent Person per the HSE Plan.
- Meet the culture-building expectations of the HSE Plan.
- The majority of the time will be in the field with the crews and supervision to help guide them as necessary.
- Work cooperatively with other contractors and their HSE reps to ensure all work is completed safely.
- Conduct weekly HSE self-assessments, engage your line supervision in this process, and submit the completed assessments to Jacobs.
- Participate in all sitewide HSE Audits and support all sitewide Leadership Walks when needed.
- Ensure all Near Miss, incidents, injuries and property damage, regardless of severity, are reported
- Participate in all HSE Incident investigations involving the WFP crews – ensure incident scenes are preserved – ensure your involved personnel remain at the scene, are separated, and written statements are immediately collected.
- Attending all required HSE meetings.
- Submit all completed SSoWs, with all related work task documents attached (e.g. permits, forms), to customer's HSE within one week of task completion.
- ALWAYS plan for emergencies – communicate with your work crews.
- Lead by example.
Must pass a background check and federal contractor drug screening.
