Canyon Fuel Company, a subsidiary of Wolverine Fuels, has an immediate opening for a full-time Belt Coordinator at the Sufco Mine which is an underground coal mining operation located approximately 30 miles east of Salina, Utah.
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE : Responsible for all belt systems at mine, including installation, maintenance, advancement, and retreat.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
Plans, directs, and monitors all activity for run-of-mine belt, mainline and panel belt conveyor work. Coordinates support work of belt crews with appropriate mine management.
Responsible for attaining optimum level of operating availability and cost efficiency for CM and Longwall production activities.
Recommends and implements improvements in equipment and maintenance methods.
Conducts meetings and organizes training to improve overall belt availability.
Sets goals, priorities, and standards through communication and cooperation with all departments.
Responsible for recommending conveyor belt equipment selection / modifications. Will play an active role in contracts, equipment specifications, warranties, and price negotiations.
Approves conveyor belt / drives material and supply orders to an authorized approval level.
Implements all safety policies and procedures related to an injury free work environment.
Develops, implements, and monitors cost reduction plans and productivity improvements.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
- Demonstrated successful underground coal mining supervisory experience
- Ten years underground mining experience with a background in CM, Longwall and general belt conveyor work
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of CM and Longwall mining methods
- Good planning and organizational Skills
- Strong leadership ability
- Current Utah Mine Foreman Certification
- MSHA Electrical Certification preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communications (oral and written) skills
- Computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word are required
