What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Planner position at Wolverine Fuels?
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Planner is required to implement and track progress of predictive and preventative maintenance program of all equipment in all mine areas. Planner is accountable for planned verses unplanned work 80/20 split and measurable presentation of the data. Planner is accountable for maintenance data analysis to effectively provide planned future maintenance. Planner is responsible to maintain proper MSHA documentation, prepare plans, schedules, and forecast for the various crews.

The Maintenance planner is expected to implement and measure rigorous planning processes for:
- Routine inspections and repairs
- Major component tracking
- Equipment backlog management
- Major maintenance work or shutdowns
- Equipment overhaul and equipment replacements
- Must be skilled in preventative, and predictive maintenance philosophies
- Must possess superior planning scheduling and forecasting skills
- Must have a clear understanding of OEM service standards, and intervals
- Receive and schedule work orders for unplanned maintenance
- Organize and orchestrate successful disciplined planned maintenance strategy
- Must be able to coordinate within the department to accomplish goal of 80% planned work
- Must possess the ability to contribute to, measurable clear time bound work, and action plans
- Must be able to accurately prioritize all planned, and unplanned work
- Ability to plan to a competent maintenance program that fosters continuous improvement
- Maintain a competent equipment register with the understanding, and agreement of equipment life cycle
- Communicate with rebuild sites, and coordinators for insight into rebuild progress, shipping and receiving, and any interval modifications
- Maintain clear lines of communication with vendor support, and maintenance department leadership
- Prefer experience and skill in speaking cost per ton, and planning based on the budget
- Drive down cost per ton plan diligently to ensure costs are kept to a minimum
- Attend review meetings, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement
- Ability to enforce, and monitor the standard operating, and standard testing procedures (SOP,STP)
- Ability to advise employees in planned maintenance, and answer questions about equipment
- Responsible for succession training including developing planners going forward
- Work with maintenance leadership to organize crews and properly distribute talent across all shifts and outages
- Must have good interpersonal skills to integrate procurement, logistics, and operations unified goals
- Must verify that all parts for planned projects are available, and on hand
- Must continuously strive to improve performance through implementing new technology
- Utilize SAP to automate, and streamline redundant work
- Maintain communication of mine operation status with maintenance manager and additional management as appropriate
- Maintain a mentality of extreme ownership
- Ensure that industry leading availability, MTBF, and MTTR is maintained in overall operation
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Five years minimum of maintenance supervision or equivalent supervisory experience
- Knowledge of basic accounting and cost control procedures
- Excellent communication (oral, written) skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-directed
- Excellent safety record
