Job Summary :
The Surface Mechanic - Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting all surface infrastructure at the mine, including conveyor belts, silos, crushers, and the water treatment facility. This role requires electrical expertise, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate heavy equipment. The individual must hold an MSHA Surface Electrical Certification and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems for all surface infrastructure, including conveyor belts, silos, crusher systems, elevators, water treatment facilities & Rail load-out equipment, etc.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs in compliance with MSHA surface electrical regulations .
- Operate and maintain surface equipment, including dozers, 980 loaders, water truck, and other heavy machinery, as needed .
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures and implement effective solutions.
- Work with PLCs, motors, electrical panels, and other industrial electrical components.
- Adhere to all MSHA safety regulations and company policies .
- Complete required documentation for maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
