Job Summary: The Quality Improvement Specialist plays a role in monitoring hospital compliance with regulatory requirements. This Specialist works under the direction of the Director of Quality in maintaining a state of continuous readiness for regulatory surveys. The Specialist interacts effectively with clinical staff and provides education in quality and safety measures. The specialist initiates quality improvement projects and facilitates improvements in hospital care.

Specifications: Bachelors Degree in Health Care Management or related field. At least three years' experience in a related field, such as quality management, health information management, project management, medical coding, or equivalent combination of education and experience. National Association of Healthcare Quality Certification (CPHQ) preferred or wiling to obtain within one year of hire. Displays an ability to evaluate areas in need of improvement and provides input in order to improve current methods, services, programs, and technology. Demonstrates advanced level of knowledge and understanding of hospital practices, medical terminology, accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance. Working knowledge of computer applications and software including Excel, Word, Cerner, and EPIC
