We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The job is between two clinics located in Mamou, LA and Oakdale, LA. Job location is scheduled according to management requirements. . WE TRAIN ON THE JOB.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding, as well as excellent communication skills to provide exceptional service to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information about services offered.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments while managing the office calendar efficiently.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
- Assist with medical billing processes, ensuring accuracy in coding (ICD-9, DRG) and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care and follow-up on treatment plans.
- Handle medical collections in a professional manner, working with patients to resolve billing issues.
- Utilize office systems effectively to streamline operations and enhance patient experience.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with familiarity in medical terminology and coding practices.
- Knowledge of medical billing processes, including ICD-9 coding and DRG systems, is highly desirable.
- Experience with managing medical records and understanding of compliance regulations is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
