Position: In-Person Teacher Assistant (Part-Time) – Math
Pay: $20–$23 per hour
Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week (Flexible schedule)

We are currently looking for a Math Teacher Assistant to support our talented team of tutors and help students develop their math skills in an enriching, hands-on learning environment. This role is ideal for college students or recent graduates who are passionate about education and have experience working with children.
Job Overview:
As a Teacher Assistant in our Math program, you will assist tutors with lesson preparation, guide students during their math sessions, and help create a positive and productive learning environment. You may also be asked to step in and lead math sessions in the absence of a tutor. Fluency in both English and Chinese is required, as many of our students are bilingual. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical teaching experience while making a meaningful impact on students’ academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist tutors during math sessions by preparing materials and providing support to students.
- Lead math sessions in the absence of a tutor, ensuring that students stay engaged.
- Help monitor student progress by providing guidance on problem-solving and reinforcing key math concepts.
- Prepare learning materials and organize activities to reinforce lesson objectives.
- Support classroom management and maintain a positive and focused learning environment.
- Assist with other teaching assistant duties as needed, such as grading assignments, tracking student progress, and preparing reports.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the teaching team to ensure a collaborative learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in both English and Chinese (required for communication with students and families).
- Can be a current or recent college student pursuing a degree in Education, Mathematics, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
- Some experience working with children, such as tutoring or volunteering in educational settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students in both English and Chinese.
- Interest in pursuing a career in education and passion for helping students succeed.
- No previous teaching assistant experience required—training will be provided.
- Reliable, responsible, and eager to contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment.
