What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager position at WongDoody?
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for co-ordination and planning for a large design team working across multiple consumer facing products.
The role is blend of traditional project management, planning & coordination as well as agile delivery of a product roadmap.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Project Management & Team Support
You will be a main point of contact for the design team to help support with regular administrative tasks and to resolve any issues that arise.
- Work with stakeholders to understand the requirements for product delivery within Entertainment & Connectivity design teams.
- Provide estimations & planning for delivery of design activities and ensure commitments are met by the team.
- Own and run bi-weekly internal and external design board meetings & their agenda
- Support in the coordination of Design Chapter activities and special projects.
- Support the design teams with administrative tasks such as IT set up, new starter onboarding, timesheet & financial reporting and travel requests.
- Manage the team holiday/sickness calendar to ensure visibility for internal teams and stakeholders.
Entertainment Team - Agile Delivery
You will play a key role in supporting and guiding the team to deliver the roadmap for Entertainment products.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure their needs are understood and addressed.
- Facilitate Scrum events including Stand Ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews & Retrospective for the Entertainment team who work across multiple platforms.
- Guide the team in using Story Points for estimating design tasks.
- Help the team establish a common understanding of Story Points for estimating and tracking work.
- Monitor and report on velocity based on Story Points committed vs delivered during each Sprint.
- Ensure specificaions and ‘snapshots’ are kept up to date on Confluence (Wiki)
- Ensure the team adhere to Scrum Principles.
- Assist the PO in maintaining and prioritising the backlog for the Design team in Jira.
- Ensure that the backlog is visible, transparent and understood by all team members.
- Identify and remove blockers from the Design team
- Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency and open communication within the Design Team.
- Help the team to work together and resolve conflicts when they arise.
- Report on team progress and impediments to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback.
WHAT YOU'RE LIKE

WHAT YOU'VE GOT
- Over 5 years project management experience at a senior level working with Product design teams.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification preferred.
- Experience of managing Scrum specifically for a Design Team would be ideal.
- Strong understanding of Story Points and their role in planning & tracking
- Proficient with collaboration tools including Atlassian Jira and Confluence, and Microsoft Office applications.
