We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Intervention Specialist Substitute.
The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) coordinates services for over 1,000 people with developmental disabilities in Wood County. Our mission is to support, empower, and inspire. The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated problem solver, flexible, detail oriented, and is a team player with time management skills, organizational skills, and leadership skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists in the implementation of an education program for students. Completes instruction as assigned by certificated instructor/specialist in teaching persons with developmental disabilities in approved or adopted curriculum areas in classrooms where students have attained compulsory school age. Prepares materials as directed by teacher. Assists enrollees with mobility, physical, and self-care needs (i.e. ambulation, feeding, getting on and off transportation vehicles, outdoor access for recess/recreation/emergencies, etc.).
- Follows Positive Support First Guidelines as appropriate and per policy of the Board. Maintains adequate supervision in all areas of the facility/community according to approved classroom rules. Implements approved behavior programs for individual students as directed, assisting with evaluation and revision as needed.
- Fulfills all other obligations and duties as required for services, maintenance, routines and documentation processes. Maintains a cooperative relationship with instructors, paraprofessionals, specialists, ancillary professionals and administration. Maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning and free of health and safety hazards. Understands and implements emergency and evacuation procedures.
