Second Shift with a 15% differential pay)
SUMMARY
Responsible for directing various day to day activities for the overhaul and repair of gas turbine parts in the component repair machine shop. These activities should be conducted in accordance with WGPW established methods and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position includes but is not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and assign work to the hourly reports in the department.
- Ensures that hourly reports comply with WGPW established safety practices and procedures.
- Assist in development of training criteria and ensure that direct reports are properly trained to perform the various functions and tasks that are required in a safe and accurate manner.
- Provide technical leadership.
- Conduct weekly toolbox safety briefings.
- Ensures that customer work instructions are carried out.
- Ensures that tooling is in proper working condition.
- Assists in employee recommend training requirements.
- Review in-process work for detail and completeness.
- Ensure labor hours are properly documented and provides input to reduce labor hours.
- Reads and interprets Travelers, drawings, and other technical data.
- Perform special projects as directed by supervision.
- Works overtime as required.
- Assists in Machine / Job Set Up.
- Ensure that machines are working safely and correctly, and that machine preventative maintenance is being performed.
- Personal tool requirements as needed for specific job functions.
- Ensure machine guarding is used correctly.
- Ensure machine preventative maintenance is being formed.
- Assist in maintaining sufficient tools / supply levels including but not limited to machine oils, cutters, grinding wheels and other consumable materials.
- Perform machined component inspection checks.
- Assist in providing component repair completion dates.
- Minor modification work such as blending, polishing and replacement of pins and bushings.
- Supervise other satellite areas as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions or be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, solvents, and oils.
