Milling Department Lead
Position Description
The milling department is responsible for cutting raw materials and the lead position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Starting production machines ensuring they are ready to go each morning.
- Coordinating with the department supervisor and team daily to understand production needs and goals for that day and to create a plan for the next day.
- Setting up the production floor relating to the daily plan reviewed with supervisor the previous afternoon.
- Cross train in multiple rolls.
- Fill in for missing employees as needed.
- Ensure all safety and quality standards are being met and/or exceeded.
Requirements for the position:
- Communication skills
- Understanding different levels of communication when working with others.
- Being relatable when directing employees and communicating with manager.
- Working effectively with other departments.
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
- Must be willing to learn all aspects of the job.
- Be engaged, ask questions, and always look for ways to improve processes.
