Under direct supervision, the Project Accountant will work with project managers and existing project accounting staff to perform a variety of duties, including project setups and invoicing. We have over 300 employees in 8 offices throughout California and Nevada and continually hire new employees and offer diverse benefits.
This is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position.
A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers' Project Accountant
- Effectively communicate with project managers regarding contract documents, change orders, other project modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to invoicing.
- Open projects, proposals, and clients in an enterprise software system (BST10).
- Review land development contracts for the financial related terms and conditions to ensure that they are clearly and accurately accounted for during initial project setup.
- Process draft invoices and all related documents through an electronic billing system.
- Prepare final invoices for land development projects, including all applicable backup and additional billing documents.
- Ensure that appropriate approvals are obtained in accordance with company policies.
- Support and assist project managers and the project accounting team.
- Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Supervisor.
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including experience in Excel, Word, and accounting software.
- Prior land development billing experience, preferably with at least 2-3 years in an A/E, professional services, or land development environment.
- Knowledge of BST Enterprise Software or other accounting platforms.
- Thorough knowledge of standard contract terms.
- Ability to work well with others and prioritize tasks within required deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
