Wood is currently recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join its Projects division at our Houston, TX Park 10 campus. This is a direct position with no relocation assistance or per diem available. Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.
This role involves performing routine aspects of engineering assignments while collaborating with experienced technical professionals on non-routine tasks. The engineer will apply fundamental engineering principles and progressively take on more responsibilities using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Key tasks include developing engineering deliverables such as reports, specifications, calculations, and data sheets, as well as assisting with mechanical system drawings and equipment selection. The role will also require participation in factory/site inspections and acceptance testing.

- Performs routine aspects of engineering assignments and collaborates with experienced technical professionals for non-routine aspects of engineering assignments.
- Applies basic engineering fundamentals learned at schools of higher learning. Begins to perform tasks with increasing initiative by using prescribed standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Assist in the development of engineering deliverables including philosophies, reports, specifications, calculations, data sheets, and technical requisitions.
- Assist with the development of Electrical onelines, plan drawings, installation details, wiring diagrams and fabrication drawings
- Assist with the specification and selection of electrical equipment to meet project criteria
- Participate in factory and/or site inspections and acceptance testing
- Initiate the exchange of required technical concepts and information with the Electrical Design staff and other disciplines
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to electrical engineering
- Ability to use ETAP, SKM, or other power system study software

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 0 to 2 years Mechanical Engineering Experience
- Experience with Mechanical Engineering in the Oil & Gas industry highly desired
- Strong ethical standards
- High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative
