Role Purpose
To perform all chemical handling for the facility.
Responsibilities
- Must obtain a forklift license.
- Become a member of ERT, and ability to attend training sessions.
- Fill in during vacation days / personal days.
- Insure all tanker trucks are off loaded promptly.
- Maintain pre-mix – surge areas in orderly fashion (housekeeping- painting).
- Maintain daily logs and inventories.
- Implement filter changes.
- Track waste by stream & weight, coordinate waste shipments, complete manifests for waste shipments – be waste minimization member.
- Monitor was consumption and utilization.
- Maintain tote agitation.
- Maintain chemical storage area, tank farm, and loading pad in clean orderly fashion.
- Verify and maintain proper labels on all chemicals.
- Insure all chemical handler personal protective equipment is in good working order.
- May perform other duties a deemed necessary.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Agility – Hand / Eye coordination Communication – Interpersonal, Oral, and Written Mechanical – Use of hand-held tools
- Knowledge of / and compliance with Safety regulations.
- Be dependable and have a good attendance record.
- Be available to work flexible hours and overtime.
- Self-starter, with demonstrated continuous improvement traits; effective at working independently.
- Perform tasks through to completion.
- Be mechanically inclined, plumbing, pneumatics.
- Must know all procedures required to handle and chemical leak, spill or other emergency situation.
