The Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and operating lathe machines to produce high-quality components according to precise specifications. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, durability, and performance of our products used in various industries.
Key Responsibilities
· Set up and operate manual lathe machines to produce parts according to blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
· Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards using precision measuring tools.
· Perform routine maintenance on lathe machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs to ensure optimal operation.
· Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine the correct machining process and setup requirements.
· Monitor machine operations and adjust as needed to maintain the accuracy and efficiency of the production process.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining or related field is desirable.
· Previous experience as a lathe operator, machinist, or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
· Proficiency with hand tools and measuring instruments such as hand mics and calipers.
· Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
· Understanding of lathe operations, tooling, and precision measuring techniques.
· Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform basic maintenance.
· Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
· Capable of lifting to 50 pounds as needed.
· Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
