Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Support:
- Assist with patient exams, including taking vitals, preparing patients for consultations, and performing basic lab tests.
- Administer vaccinations, injections, and other medical treatments as directed by the provider.
- Assist with minor procedures such as wound care, EKGs, and pulmonary function tests.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage patient scheduling, confirming appointments, and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide education on services offered at the DPC practice.
- Coordinate referrals and assist in managing patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare providers.
- Process lab work and medications, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results to patients.
- Patient Advocacy & Support:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, supporting them through ongoing care management.
- Ensure patients understand their care options and feel comfortable in the practice.
- Assist with patient check-in/check-out processes and provide a warm, welcoming experience.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy/EMT certification preferred.
- At least 1 year of health care experience, preferably in a primary care setting.
- Phlebotomy proficiency and familiarity with basic lab tests is a must.
- Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical terminology, and basic office operations.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and basic office software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Preferred Skills:
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) or ability to obtain upon hire.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $43,680.00 - $56,160.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
