What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Director position at Woodland Christian School?
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily oversight of all preschool operations
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets state and federal standards
- Oversee compliance with the requirements for state licensing and the state department of social services.
- Implement a staff development program.
- Provide spiritual leadership
- Respond to parents’ and staff members’ concerns, solve problems and resolve differences.
- Inform parents of school events and policies through monthly newsletters, the parent handbook and other written communication as necessary.
- Provide information and reports to the school administrator and school board as requested.
- Provide oversight to the maintenance and cleaning of the physical grounds, buildings and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with state regulations.
- Perform administrative tasks necessary to the operation of the school.
- Oversee school events.
- Report children’s special needs, difficulties responding to discipline, etc., to parents.
- Work together with parents and teachers to promote children’s successful integration into a classroom setting.
- 15 units of early childhood education: 3 units in administration or staff relations and 12 units that cover general areas of child growth and development, or human growth and development; child, family and community, or child and family; and program/curriculum. Also four years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program is required.
- An associate of arts degree with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development and at least two years of teaching experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group child care program. Three of the units need to be in administration or staff relations.
- A bachelor’s degree with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development and at least one year of teaching experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group child care program. Three of the units need to be in administration or staff relations.
- A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or a Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Salary : $68,640 - $71,500
