What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Coordinator position at Woodland Church of Battle Creek?
Role Expectation: Woodland Kids Volunteer Coordinator is to provide support to the Woodland Kids Director and the associated ministry. This includes creating systems and procedures that ensure ministry and team preparedness for all Woodland Kids programming this includes managing volunteer teams (Onboarding, Scheduling, and Communication) and serving as a support lead in our Kids Ministry environments.
This position will work closely in collaboration with the Kids Ministry Director, Curriculum Coordinator and related volunteer teams.
Hours Expectations* - Total of 16 Hours per week

- Tuesday - OFF
- Wednesday - 9:00am - 3:00pm
- Thursday - 9:00am - 3:00pm
- Friday - OFF
- Saturday - OFF
- Sunday - 8:00am - 12:00pm
Roles and Responsibilities
- Volunteer Management

- Responsible for keeping up to date profile information for all volunteers and kids at the Battle Creek Campus.
- Responsible for proactively scheduling, confirming, and resourcing volunteers to ensure proper personnel coverage throughout all Kids Ministry rooms on Sunday mornings.
- Responsible for facilitating recruiting and onboarding processes to help every volunteer feel empowered and encouraged to serve to their fullest.
- Responsible for coordinating semi annual team trainings to help equip volunteers and team members with the latest safety and health practices to implement within the ministry environments.
- Sunday Morning Support

- Responsible for overseeing Check In stations and associated volunteers - making sure all stations are functioning properly and team members are trained and prepared to assist incoming families.
- Responsible for serving as a "Floor Leader" for an area of the Woodland Kids ministry on Sunday Mornings.
- Serving as an on call support to any ministry need that may arise.
- Responsible for setting up Volunteer Hospitality space ensuring that all necessary furniture, snacks, and resources are staged appropriately before volunteers arrive.
- Team Communication

- Curation and distribution of a monthly newsletter to all volunteers in the Woodland Kids Ministry
- Curation and distribution of a weekly service run down email to scheduled volunteers.
- Assist with PCO Event Registration Creation and Management
- Draft various training materials and manuals for volunteers and rooms.
- Hospitality Expectations

- Maintain a proactive positive and helpful attitude in the office or on weekends with staff, volunteers, and attenders in the ministry environments.
- Greet volunteers as they enter the office area, and ensure cleanliness of work environments.
- Provide helpful and attentive service to congregants as they have questions or need assistance.
