Days/Hrs: 6.5 hours per day, M-F, 191 days per year (180 school days and 11 holidays, in a full year)

Benefits: Position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D and LTD through the School Employee Benefits Board (SEBB). If position starts by 5/2, benefits will be effective the first day of the month after the start date. If position starts after 5/2, benefits will be effective 9/1/2025. Position is eligible for retirement through the WA State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS)
Job Summary: Provides instruction to students under the supervision of a certified teacher. To assist the superintendent toward the accomplishment of the mission of the Woodland Public Schools to assure that within a nurturing and stimulating environment each of our diverse students and graduates achieve literacy and appropriate core competencies and becomes a responsible and compassionate citizen. Work is performed under the direction of the principal.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- If you are hired for this position you are required to have complete the minimum hiring requirement: Either (1) documentation to support an Associate’s Degree or transcripts to verify the comparable equivalence (i.e. 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits from an accredited university, college, community college or business school), or (2) ETS ParaPro Assessment with a passing score of 461.
- Has worked directly with middle school ELL students in small group and in class support for at least one year
- Ability to work and communicate well with staff members
- Ability to follow a variety of prescribed education strategies
- Ability to independently complete assigned tasks
- Experience teaching reading, writing and math
- Bilingual Required (Spanish/English)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead small group instruction utilizing specific curriculums
- Assist classroom teachers as required with instructional programs including supervision of student activities and clerical support
- Monitor student behaviors on all parts of the campus and make appropriate supervisory decisions
- Supervise students before school and on the playground and maintain a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts
- Assumes responsibility for safe use of play equipment
- Typing duties and data entry as required
- Manage required forms and records3
- Responsible to communicate effectively, be a team player and to treat all students with dignity
- Strong self-management skills, self-initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision
- Strong regard for relationships with peers and children
- Punctuality, good attendance record, flexibility and good sense of humor
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervision
- Translate documents for students
- Communication with ML families
- Attend IEP meetings for interpretation services
