Hourly Wage: $19.97 per hour
Job Summary: To assist toward the accomplishment of the mission of the Woodland Public Schools to assure that within a nurturing and stimulating environment each of our diverse students and graduates achieve literacy and appropriate core competencies and becomes a responsible and successful citizen. Substitute for school cook as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Food Handler's Card issued in the state of Washington
- Experience working in an institutional or restaurant kitchen
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keeps kitchen area clean, including washing dishes
- Prepares various daily food items
- Assists other kitchen staff as necessary
- Fills various dispensers
- Maintains order in the kitchen area
- Participates in the preparation and serving of food in the cafeteria
- Participates in cleaning of kitchen and related areas
- Follows required sanitation procedures
- Ensure that all equipment in the cafeteria area is in safe, working condition, and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs are needed
- Participates in maintaining records on food and supplies received and used
- Provides cashiering duties using the Skyward student information system
- Treat co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all times
- Serve as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
- Work in a flexible and cooperative manner
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by Food Service Manager or Head Cook

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
