Description: Provide a structured, individualized, science classroom environment to meet the needs of dual language students by consistently practicing differentiated instruction; and ability to implement authentic assessments such as portfolios to evaluate student achievement.

Qualifications
- License/Certification: Required - Illinois Professional Educator License with Science and ESL endorsements (If candidate does not have the ESL endorsement, they must commit to earning it within three (3) years.)
- Education: Required - Bachelor's Degree
- Experience - Required - Teaching or student teaching experience
- Preferred - Teaching or student teaching experience in a middle school science classroom.
- Has command of the subject matter and effectively implements the Woodland District 50 Curriculum
- Uses a variety of instructional techniques and differentiates instruction to meet the individual needs and interests of the students
- Adheres to the guidelines outlined in the Wooldna School District 50 Staff Handbook and Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Contributes and models a positive school climate through the support of the district's Strategic Plan and Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) program
- Presents curriculum and uses a variety of assessment tools that support district and common core state goals, objectives and standards
- Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests
- Instructs students in the importance and use of eye protection as well as the use, care and safe handling of laboratory equipment and materials

- Administers state and local standardized ability and achievement tests and interprets results to determine student strengths and areas of need
- Attends and participates in daily team meetings and monthly grade level, department and faculty meetings
