EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered with one of the following:
- American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) (N), preferred
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB), preferred
- Required Licensure with the State of Indiana.
- Basic Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of two years experience performing Nuclear Medicine procedures in a hospital environment preferred.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Assists in the supervision of and participates in a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, the calculation of results, and the maintenance, review, and application of associated computer programs.
- Maintains the Nuclear Medicine department according to Local, State, and Federal Laws pertaining to radioactive materials.
- Prepares and supervises the administration of radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
- Develops, recommends, and implements new procedures, protocols, guidelines, and techniques to improve patient care and customer satisfaction.
- Prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to provide the requested diagnostic images for interpretation.
- Other duties as assigned.
