Woodlawn Preschool Office Expectations
Office Duties
Answer Phones and take messages if necessary;
Ensure all documentation is complete and filed for accuracy before start date for
enrollment;
Double check weekly student attendance. Ensure all students have been signed in and
out -Teachers are suppose to do this
o Report to both teacher and director for needed correction and follow-up.;
Completes the Communicable Disease report every Friday;
Ensure weekly CACFP reports are given to staff on Fridays;
Attends to the training book for staff trainings to be entered;
Communicate with Accountant on incoming payables;
Process receivables as requested by accountant;
Ensure all receipts are forwarded to accountant;
In charge of minute meetings for all staff meetings;
Create and maintain Woodlawn Flyers;
Assist in providing lunch breaks;
Assist teachers in handling troubled students;
Money prepared to be deposited to the Center Director at the end of the day;
Key in the office to be locked up at the end of the day, with the cash box locked;
Help & assist in maintaining a safely and orderly environment for staff and students;
Other expectations that may arise that the Center Director would ask.
Health and Safety Issues
Protects all children from physical punishment or verbal abuse by anyone in any
program activity, and immediately reports any such incident to the center director or
person in charge;
Assists calmly in evacuation of the building in an emergency and in practice drills, and is
able to respond to any emergency;
Interactions with Parents
Maintains a relationship with all your parents when they arrive/depart;
Treats all parents with RESPECT;
Encourages all parents to attend activities;
Brings any feedback from the parents whether good or bad back to the Director;
Makes sure all child records are up to date and all the necessary items are located in
their files.
Interactions with Staff
Maintains a friendly relationship with staff;
Cooperates with all other professional staff that comes into the building or outside of
the building at meetings that you may attend.
General /Professionalism (including appearance)
Attends all training opportunities and staff meetings as provided and scheduled;
Performs all other tasks deemed necessary by the Center Director;
Meets deadlines in completing all tasks;
Remains current in state requirements required by law- First Aid, CPR, training hours;
Supports Woodlawn Preschool;
Approaches problems in a constructive fashion, taking initiative to correct problems
whenever possible, using NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct as a guide;
Contributes ideas in helping Woodlawn grow and better service our children and
families;
Develops an attractive and engaging environment for the front of the office;
Maintains a clean environment for the front office;
Personal dress should be business casual and appropriate.
o Exceptions exist for special occasions (events/holidays)
Like the rest of the staff, Woodlawn expects only the best of behaviors. You will be the face of
the school. The first face new individuals will see when they walk into Woodlawn. It is expected that
everyone portrays a welcoming face and greets every individual with respect and punctuality.
