Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Entering prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system for pharmacist approval
• Answering and triaging incoming phone calls in the department
• Processing prescription refill requests from facilities
• Making calls to facilities regarding medication inquiries
• Reviewing and investigating rejected third-party claims; resolving/adjudicating as deemed necessary
• Preparing and processing third-party prior authorization forms and follow-up as necessary
• Processing credits and returns
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess:
• An associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 3 years' experience in pharmacy/third-party billing, or pharmacy technician experience preferred
• Ability to answer multiple phone lines
• Experience in long-term care billing preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Prior experience working with third-party payors a plus
