What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machining Center Operator (2nd Shift) position at Woodsage LLC?
Role and Responsibilities
The CNC Operator responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,
- Responsible for following written work instructions and reading basic print specifications.
- Responsible for operating and adjusting semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled (CNC) machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided.
- Responsible for their own setups, but more complex setups may still be performed by others.
- A level two operator will train to write simple CNC programs on the machine on the floor.
- Responsible for checking parts for conformance to specifications, using digital and or analog calipers, micrometers, and go/no-go gauging.
- Required to operate equipment safely and recognize conditions that require a stoppage whether it be safety or quality related.
- The operator will be trained and responsible for documenting quality and tracking related paperwork.
- Responsible for setup and operates CNC machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications.
- Work from machine setup instructions defining tool arrangements, material clamping methods, and machine calibrations for operations Checks parts for conformance to specifications.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance on their assigned equipment.
- Operators may run more than one unit simultaneously.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years Prior CNC experience in a Production environment.
- The job requires knowledge of manufacturing techniques unique to Woodsage such as metal forming, laser cutting, drilling, threading, turning etc.
- Demonstrates familiarity with computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tool operating procedures.
- Can use and apply basic shop mathematics.
- Must have positive attitude and ability to take complete ownership of area.
- A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record.
- Detail oriented approach to daily work activities.
- Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment.

- Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds (Occasionally).
- Temperatures (Occasionally).
