Role and Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic leader responsible for driving a high-performance culture within our 2 manufacturing facilities. This role will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent development, organizational change management, compliance, employee relations, and workforce planning. The Director of HR will work closely with the CEO and Senior leadership to implement policies that enhance productivity, engagement, and operational excellence while partnering with an HR Specialist to ensure efficient day-to-day HR functions.
Strategic Leadership & Culture Development:
- Champion a high-performance culture that aligns with the company’s goals, fostering accountability, innovation, and operational efficiency
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and workforce productivity
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support business growth
- Lead change management efforts, ensuring smooth transitions in response to business needs, market shifts, and company growth
Talent Acquisition & Employee Development:
- Develop strategies for attracting, hiring, and retaining top manufacturing talent
- Oversee the creation and implementation of employee development programs, including training, leadership development, and succession planning
- Support performance management initiatives to drive employee success and accountability
HR Operations & Compliance:
- Maintains current and complete understanding and ensures organizational compliance of all Federal, State and local laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA, and EEO regulations
- Ensures integrity, maintenance and confidentiality of all personnel records in accordance with policies and procedures and applicable Federal and State laws
- Establish and enforce HR policies and procedures that align with best practices in manufacturing
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and payroll administration to maintain competitive and fair employee offerings
- Vendor management
- Serve as the administrator and sponsor of the 401K plan, ensuring compliance and effective management
- Act as a member of the investment committee to oversee and guide retirement plan decisions
- Manage workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and employee relations in partnership with leadership
Workforce Planning & Organizational Development:
- Evaluate workforce needs and implement plans to optimize staffing levels and operational efficiency
- Lead efforts to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention strategies
- Implement data-driven decision-making by utilizing HR metrics and analytics to measure effectiveness and drive improvements
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment
- Relevant certification (PHR / SPHR) preferred
- Strong project management skills are essential
- Strong background in change management, talent development, and performance culture initiatives
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and labor relations
- Proven ability to lead and develop HR teams, including mentoring an HR Specialist
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Experience with HR technology (Paycor preferred) and data analytics to support strategic decision-making
