The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.
We are currently seeking a Lead Custodian at WoodsEdge Learning Center in Portage, Michigan. The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Opens building and makes coffee
• Cleans pool and tests water
• Assist with conference room set-up and audio-visual needs
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space
• Empties trash and garbage containers
• Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities
• Replaces air conditioner and/or furnace filters
• Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
• Cleans snow and debris from sidewalk
• Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers
• Regular and consistent attendance
• Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, experience as a custodian, the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and the capability to lead and train other custodial staff; requires basic math skills for chemical mixing and area calculations. 5 years’ experience cleaning in the educational setting. 3-5 years of lead custodian experience.
This is a 12-month calendar position in job grade 11 with an annual rate of pay between $32,113.44 and $47,021.76.
