The Training and Competency Lead will be accountable for the strategy, planning, execution and governance of training and competency for International Operations. The T&C lead will be supported by a team of temporary resources to deliver some key scopes and then transition into the BAU model. The Training and Competency Lead will be responsible for delivery of:
- Capability strategy for IO
- Development of competency profiles across IO
- Sustainable training program
The role reports to the Gulf of Mexico Operations manager but holds responsibilities across Gulf of Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago.
- To deliver a cohesive and sustainable capability strategy for International Operations inclusive of considerations for existing systems and processes deployed in Australian Operations.
- Work closely with International Operations leadership and the broader Discipline Networks to develop capability maps (aligned to global WEL standards) and tools for use in each discipline.
- Maintain the connection to the Operations Excellence Capability Advisor
- To formulate, generate and deliver a competency assurance program for operations, maintenance and engineering personnel by liaising with approved WEL global Process Owners.
- Update the content for operations and maintenance training
- Plan and execute the digital and process evolution of training governance i.e. utilize Australian Operations dashboards and tools to manage training governance
- Complete N 1 mapping for operations and pathway to achieving them
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, occupational health and safety, or other related field. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
- Skilled in knowledge of operations and maintenance training requirements.
- Ability to manage change, with uncertainty/ambiguity.
- Project management-like skillsets to manage schedules, resources, reporting, risk and delivery.
- Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Experience demonstrating effective stakeholder engagement
- Experience working in cross discipline teams
- Skilled in Process Safety Management
- Skilled in Operations and Maintenance practices
- Good awareness of Engineering practices
- Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and different cultures advantageous.
- Strong appetite for Continuous Improvement
- Strong interpersonal and engagement skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse stakeholders and conveying information clearly and concisely.
- Min of 8 years in Operations / Maintenance
