Summary Description
Under the direction of the Club Manager, the Club Monitor will be responsible for ensuring The Woodside Standard (cleanliness expectations in fitness, tennis, pool decks and other common club areas including Indoor Pool Area) and holding members and employees accountable to all member and employee policies, procedures, rules and regulations. The Club Monitor will tactfully correct any member and employee behavior that is in violation of established member and employee protocols. This position will assist in cleaning the fitness areas in both the North Club and South Club and/or the upper and lower pool decks (seasonally). This position must be willing to work and move throughout a shift with purpose; stand for long periods of time, enforce club/cleanliness policies and execute cleaning procedures.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Acknowledges and greets everyone who comes into/is throughout the Club
- Assists in collaborating with the Club Manager to find new task and to-do list/stay busy and productive and proactively addresses any cleanliness issues and assists with any other cleaning needs
- Completes Club Monitoring daily duties, task and projects – additionally, see Addendum A
- Performs routine checks on the fitness floors, tennis areas and pool areas (seasonally)
- Assists in set-up and clean-up for various Group Fitness classes; also trains and gets educated on related specifics
- Gains instruction and maintains knowledge on Lost & Found, Locker Rentals, Radio Procedures, Personal Training, Tennis & Childcare Reservations, MyWellness App/Technogym & Woodside App and all other club policy/procedures
- Provides support for Housekeeping by cleaning member fitness areas, folding towels, wiping down high touch areas (e.g., drinking fountains, hand railings, door handles, stretch mats, fitness tools, etc.)
- Monitors and stocks clean towels, fitness floor wipes, sanitation stations, etc.
- Wipes down and disinfects cardio and strength equipment, cleans and re-racks weight plates, dumbbells, and other fitness tools and equipment
- Wipes down and disinfects lounge chairs, side tables, umbrellas, bar tops and any other outdoor high touch areas/spaces (seasonally)
- Maintains neat, clean and debris free areas including lobby, tennis deck, fitness areas and pool decks
- Responds to any member inquiries in accordance with Club policies, rules and regulations
- Professionally enforces all member and employee policies, procedures, rules and regulations throughout the Club
- Professionally handles/ reports outlining member (or employee) issues, ongoing challenges, areas of concern, etc. to the Club Manager
- Covers front desk staff breaks and does not loiter around other employee work areas (front desk, spa front desk, Earthbar, etc.)
- Show enthusiasm towards Woodside and a fitness lifestyle
- Complies with Club’s employee handbook manual, departmental policies, and procedures and with all applicable federal and state employment laws
- All other duties as assigned
