What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Maintenance Staff position at Woodspring Suites (An Extended Stay Hotel)?
As a hotel maintenance worker, your primary responsibility is to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of various systems and areas within the hotel.
Your duties may include:
Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as inspecting and repairing plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and other mechanical systems to ensure they are in good working order.
Repairs: Respond to guest requests and work orders promptly to address maintenance issues, such as fixing leaky faucets, repairing broken appliances, replacing light bulbs, or addressing any other issues reported by guests or staff.
Safety and Security: Inspect the premises regularly to identify potential safety hazards or security concerns. This may include checking fire alarm systems, emergency exits, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and systems to identify any signs of wear and tear or potential problems. Perform preventative maintenance tasks to mitigate issues before they escalate.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed. This documentation helps track the history of maintenance work and provides a reference for future troubleshooting.
Guest Assistance: Assist guests with any maintenance-related issues they may encounter during their stay. This could involve troubleshooting problems, providing temporary solutions, or coordinating with external contractors for more complex repairs.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with other hotel staff members to coordinate maintenance tasks, prioritize work orders, and ensure minimal disruption to guests' experiences.
Equipment and Supplies: Monitor and maintain an inventory of maintenance equipment, tools, and supplies. Report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
Compliance: Stay updated on building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental requirements relevant to hotel maintenance. Ensure that all maintenance activities align with these standards.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in maintenance operations. Suggest innovative solutions, cost-saving measures, or equipment upgrades to enhance the hotel's maintenance capabilities.
