What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Classroom Teacher (2) position at WOODSTOCK ELEMENTARY?
Woodstock Elementary School seeks candidates for the position of 1.0 FTE primary grade teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-2026 school year. (grade level TBD, likely 2nd). Woodstock Elementary School cultivates compassionate, empowered learners in a village setting with access to the town and trails. We are a cohesive community utilizing PBIS, Second Step, and Responsive Classroom approaches to foster a sense of belonging.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum BA or BS degree
- Experience teaching elementary age children, ideally at the K-2 grade level
- Hold or is eligible to hold a valid Vermont Professional License
- Excellent language skills, strong curriculum background, proven effective pedagogy skills. Familiarity with Fundations, EL, Open Up Math, and structured literacy instruction is a plus.
- Ability to communicate courteously, efficiently, and effectively with a variety of individuals, including students, faculty, administrators, parents and broader school community
- A can-do attitude and team-based approach
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with peers, supervisors, parents, and surrounding community
Woodstock Elementary is a PreK through 4th-grade school with approximately 250 students for the 2025-2026 school year. Teachers at WES enjoy partnering and collaborating in and across grade-level teams.
