We are scaling rapidly and are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to handle day to day accounting responsibilities. This is a “many hats” kind of role, with responsibilities that include managing all accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, ensuring accurate entry of information into the accounting system, and collaborating with the finance and operations teams to identify opportunities for further improvement across the business. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, familiar with inventory accounting, and have experience in a fast-paced environment with a company that is growing rapidly.
Responsibilities:
- Performing all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing invoices, accounting for deposit payments, coding of transaction details, and processing payments
- Performing all activities related to accounts receivable function including invoicing, processing deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
- Maintaining and balancing the general ledger in a timely and accurate manner
- Monthly account reconciliations (general ledger, bank accounts, credit card, month and year-end closing)
- Maintenance of weekly cashflow document (tracking all payments and receipts) and keeping management informed on cash position and overall cash inflows/outflows
- Aggregation of monthly financial packages including key reporting metrics (sales, expenses, gross profit and EBITDA margins, key highlights/changes, etc.)
- Weekly payroll (running payroll, submitting payroll taxes, coordinating company benefits, employee onboarding, and 1099 tracking and processing)
- Applying for and processing/remitting sales tax on a monthly/quarterly basis as required
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA is a plus
- 3-5 years relevant experience working in accounting and bookkeeping (ideally with a company experiencing rapid growth)
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite
- A high degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Multi-state sales tax experience
- Experience with CPG, E-commerce and/or manufacturing businesses
- Shopify, Amazon, and Gusto experience is a plus
