Job Overview
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the facility, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally. This role requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, project management, and facilities management. The Maintenance Director will lead a team of maintenance professionals, implement preventive maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing the Maintenance department's daily functions, programs, and activities.
- Assist in developing and implementing (and reviewing) written maintenance policies and procedures.
- Interpret the department’s policies and procedures to employees, residents, visitors, government agencies, etc.
- Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other departments.
- Make written and/or oral reports to the Administrator as necessary or required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Dept.
- Assists in establishing an effective preventive maintenance program of cleaning, painting, maintaining equipment, lawns and gardens etc., as necessary.
- Establish a priority system for unscheduled maintenance.
- Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident safety, comfort and convenience. Make recommendations to Administrator (or designee)
- Inspect storage rooms/closets for upkeep and supply control.
- Participate in facility survey/inspections made by authorized government agencies.
- Assist in developing a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during surveys/inspections.
- Monitor outside services to ensure that such services are performed correctly.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc as directed to assist in the control of equipment and supplies.
- Conduct and schedule in-service training classes as necessary/directed.
- Make periodic rounds to identify any new or potential maintenance concerns/hazards.
- Ensure that maintenance supplies/equipment are maintained to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
- Ensure that hazardous chemicals are properly labeled and stored.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
