Primary Function
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a director of dual enrollment and early college initiatives to lead and administer the college's dual enrollment and early college programs, lead student orientation activities, provide academic advising and represent the college to high schools and other organizations at community events. The director will lead dual enrollment efforts in partnership with the three counties within the service district and ensure delivery of dual enrollment services to college and high school, charter, and private school students within those campus communities. Work schedule will include evenings and weekends as needed.
Essential Duties

- Administers and develops the college's dual enrollment and early college programs; recruits students tot he college's dual enrollment and early college programs; works with faculty, staff and local school districts to provide a high-quality onboarding experience for students and helps resolve issues that are barriers to success; coordinates with college faculty to support students and to address course availability both at the college and at local school districts; maintains relationships with school district guidance counselors to assist students as they prepare for dual enrollment courses; works with parents/guardians of high school students to address any concerns regarding dual enrollment or early college courses
- Monitors and maintains dual enrollment student data, tracks enrollment targets for each semester determined by the administration from high schools, including home schools and private high schools, and tracks related data dashboards in partnership with institutional research
- Creates, develops and administers solutions, strategic activities, aligned objectives, and processes and procedures for dual enrollment; conducts research and analysis and provides findings and recommendations; and develops solutions to processes pertaining to dual enrollment
- Provides holistic academic advising to all dual enrollment and early college students, including proactive advising and responding to alerts submitted by faculty, and conducts transitional advising appointments at the end of dual enrollment students' senior year to discuss degree programs at Wor-Wic and financial resources such as scholarships, grants and opportunity programs and/or provides transfer counseling and preparation
- Oversees all orientation activities for dual enrollment and early college students; serves as a co-lead for collegewide new student welcome activities
- Provides support to academic deans, instructional staff, full- and part-time faculty and instructional staff, and staff
- Assists the admission and outreach team in recruiting efforts
- Serves as an enrollment coach, helping students review and discuss career choices, select academic program or non-credit courses, understand basic financial aid processes and determine their placement status
- Manages and/or contributes to the annual and five-year comprehensive department assessment process as per the college assessment plan
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work or a relevant field
- Three years of relevant work experience with college and/or high school students
- Strong attention to detail, computer (including Microsoft Office), electronic database, organizational, human relations, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a creative and dynamic individual who can work independently and under general supervision to provide courteous and accurate customer service to all students, visitors and the campus community both in-person and virtually
- Valid driver's license
- Preference will be given to applicants with a master's degree, demonstrated experience working with college and workforce preparation (especially with dual enrollment programs) and supervising professional and support staff
Supplemental Information
This is a full-time standard administrative position with excellent fringe benefits. Days and Hours of work are Mon. - Thurs., 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Fri., 8 am - 4:30 pm (1 hour lunch). The starting salary will likely range from $66,400 to $81,500 depending on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.

Full-time administrators, full-time faculty and part-time administrators can enroll in the State Retirement and Pension System (SRPS) of Maryland, or the Maryland Optional Retirement Program (MORP) subject to approval by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Seven percent of the employee's salary is deducted as a retirement contribution from each paycheck of all employees enrolled in the SRPS.

Part-time administrators and support staff members are eligible for tuition waivers for themselves for credit or community and continuing education courses offered by the college, up to a maximum of one credit or one community and continuing education course each session, semester or term. The employee must attend on his or her own time.

Annual Leave
Full-time administrators earn annual leave at a rate of 20 days per year. Part-time administrators earn annual leave at a rate of 7.7 percent of the total hours worked per pay period.
Full-time faculty members who sign 12-month employment agreements earn annual leave at a rate of 20 days per year, but this leave cannot be taken when they are scheduled to teach classes. Full-time faculty members who sign 10-month employment agreements do not receive annual leave.
Full-time support staff members earn annual leave at a rate of 10 days per year during their first through fourth years of employment, 15 days per year during the fifth through ninth years and 20 days per year in the 10th and subsequent years. Part-time support staff members earn annual leave at a rate of 3.8 percent of the total hours worked per pay period during their first through fourth years of employment, 5.75 percent of total hours worked per pay period during the fifth through ninth years, and 7.7 percent of the total hours worked per pay period in 10th and subsequent years.
Sick Leave
Full-time administrators and support staff members earn sick leave at a rate of 15 days per year.
Faculty members who sign 10-month employment agreements earn sick leave at a rate of 12.5 days per year. Full-time faculty members who sign 12-month employment agreements earn sick leave at a rate of 15 days per year.
Part-time administrators and support staff members earn sick leave at a rate of 5.7 percent of the total hours worked per pay period.
Newly-hired employees who have been members of the Maryland State Retirement System at their last place of employment can transfer their accumulated sick leave to Wor-Wic if the time lapse between their previous employment and the college is less than four months and if a letter certifying the number of accumulated sick leave days is forwarded from the personnel office of the previous employer to the college within 60 days after the employee's starting date of employment. Sick leave transferred from other agencies has no cash value at the termination of employment at Wor-Wic.
