Position Summary : WCAC's Job & Education Center (JEC) offers alternative individualized education pathways for young people outside traditional school environment, with the intention of instilling the values of lifelong learners and providing career pathway exploration, connections to post-secondary and certificate training programs leading to employment opportunities. The Case Manager will be responsible for managing a caseload of young people ages 14-24 : providing comprehensive case management, connecting them to community resources, building trust and relationships, reducing attachment to gangs and gang activities, and ultimately reducing instances of youth violence, criminal activity, and juvenile arrests. The successful candidate will visit Worcester Public and Worcester Alternative schools to meet with program participants on a regular basis. High School Diploma or HiSet equivalent required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn software and databases used by WCAC.Knowledge and understanding of gang culture, particularly in Worcester and how national trends influence local activity.Familiarity with Worcester and knowledge of community resources.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Positive, friendly, and resourceful demeanor required.Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.Ability to speak Spanish or other languages, a plus. Other Requirements : Ability to successfully complete a CORI / SORI review.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
