Responsibilities:
The Program Manager – Resident Programs assists the Vice President of Resident Services in the development, implementation, management, delivery, and assessment of Resident Services programs and processes. Directly overseeing the Youth and Adult Program Coordinators, the Program Manager assesses program and process effectiveness, seeks to address challenges and remove barriers, and looks for ways to continually advance and improve programs. The Program Manager builds partnerships in the community to enhance programs and conducts outreach among residents and staff to encourage participation in Youth and Adult programs. The Program Manager provides strategy, leadership, training, and mentoring to the Youth and Adult Program Coordinators, and establishes and monitors program goals and budgets. The Program Manager ensures compliance with regulations, policies, and grants, and that program improvements are aligned with the WHA’s overall business strategy and goals.
This is a full-time, fully benefited, onsite (not remote) position with normal business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. The position may occasionally require work outside of normal business hours to accommodate project work and events. The Program Manager must have and maintain a valid, insurable driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position throughout the course of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, oversees, and analyzes resident programs assigned to the Resident Services Youth and Adult Program Coordinators.
- Creates and implements marketing and outreach campaigns to provide information to residents regarding programs and available services.
- Conducts community outreach to local service agencies to create partnerships for providing programs and services to WHA residents.
- Collects and analyzes program data, successes, and challenges and makes recommendations for adjustments, where needed.
- Supervises, and provides support and accountability to the Youth and Adult Program Coordinators and assists with programs and workloads where necessary to ensure achievement of program goals.
- Works with the WHA Grant Writer to identify, respond to, and successfully obtain grants and to create and execute other fundraising campaigns for new and existing programs.
- Reports to the Vice President of Resident Services to evaluate program components, benchmarks, metrics, challenges, and opportunities.
- Makes sure that staff are provided adequate training and guidance, develops and maintains training manuals, and keeps staff informed of program, grant, policy, procedure, or regulatory changes.
- Acts as a support to the Adult and Youth Program Coordinators, assisting at program events and guiding event planning and execution.
- Establishes and monitors program goals and budgets, as well as performance goals for direct reports and ensure performance standards are met and deficiencies are addressed.
- Responds promptly to inquiries, complaints, and sensitive cases concerning Adult and Youth Programs.
- Maintains electronic records and documentation for programs and monitors progress.
- Drives the development of programs for advanced education (youth preparing for college and college-age adults), working with local organizations, universities, and colleges to create opportunities.
- Performs similar job-related duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- College degree in a human services or related field required.
- Minimum of four years of experience in a human/social services role.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a direct supervisor of staff.
- Solid understanding of the issue of poverty and its causes.
- Knowledge of local social service agencies providing assistance to low income/at risk families.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and understand cultural differences.
- Ability to establish goals, achieve measurable outcomes, and to hold others accountable.
- Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills: ability to communicate clearly, professionally and courteously to external and internal clients, visitors, vendors, residents, applicants, and staff.
- Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and work effectively in a busy office environment.
- Excellent attention to detail; resourceful and versatile in responding to changing demands.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, insurable driver’s license and adequate transportation.
- Ability to be relied upon to be available for work daily and punctually.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to spend occasional periods standing and walking, including climbing stairs, as well as balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to bend, handle materials, tools, or equipment, and reach with hands and/or arms.
