This position is accountable for teaching and supervision of students in Carpentry state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the department head.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)1. Responsible for the development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies.2. Responsible for the integration of the departments curriculum where appropriate.3. Massachusetts teachers approval (Chapter 74) in the Carpentry Vocational Technical program or ability to achieve in one year from hire.2. High School Diploma or higher in related field3. Five years of recent full-time experience in carpentry or related field4. Possession of a current MA Construction Supervisors License.5.
Strong background in residential/commercial construction, entrepreneurship, and local/state building codes.6 .Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques.7. Working knowledge of computer applications (CNC) in the construction industry.8. Evidence of good human relations skills9. OSHA certifiedPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs2. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African Language. 3. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisitionWORK YEAR: 184 days SALARY: SALARY: Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree.
