SUBJECT: AUTOMOTIVE INSTRUCTOR – CHAPTER 74 (VHS1157-12)
REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
This individual is accountable for teaching and supervision of students in Automotive technology or collision state frameworks (expertise in both preferred) and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Automotive Department Head at Worcester Technical High School.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)
1. Responsible for the implementation of departmental curriculum objectives based on State of Massachusetts VTE frameworks Auto Technology and/or Auto Collision
2. Responsible for the integration of the department's curriculum where appropriate.
3. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to be certified for High School Instruction Massachusetts (Chapter 74) in Automotive Technology or Automotive Collision
2. ASE/NATEF Certified in eight (8) ASE sections of Automotive Technology or in two (2) areas of Auto Collision
3. Experience in State of Massachusetts emissions and inspectional requirements
4. Advanced educational preparation in engine and diagnostic applications
5. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
6. Evidence of good human relation skills
7. Competent in computer application
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Massachusetts teacher’s approval (Chapter 74) in Automotive Technology AND Automotive Collision
2. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs
3. Experience and/or comprehensive training regarding second language acquisition.
4. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African Language.
SALARY: Appropriate step on vocational teachers’ salary schedule
