Our client in Atlanta is seeking an experienced General Manager at a commercial laundry/linen/uniform service operation.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of plant operations, including but not limited to personnel, productivity, safety compliance, production planning, engineering, equipment operation and departmental communication. Additional focus to include plant improvements, cost reduction and administrative compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategic plans to achieve company objectives, aligning with overall business goals and market analysis.
- Drive revenue generation and cost control initiatives.
- Responsible for managing plant safety, operation, costs and budgeting.
- Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including production, quality control, safety management, plant maintenance, logistics and supply chain management.
- Optimize processes for maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Oversees the efficiency management of required utilities, supplies, linen purchases, and warehouse/inventory issues for successful cost control within the facility
- Responsible for meeting customer requirements, maintaining operational efficiencies, assembling and directing an operations management staff and ensuring integration of the engineering, distribution, service and office departments while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
- Develop the plant team which includes Plant Manager, Production Managers, Chief Engineer, Office Manager, and others
- Co-chairs the plant safety committee and oversees the regulatory compliance for all required industry and regulatory agencies
- Attends, participates, and documents laundry surveys for potential clients
- Develops action plans and Personal Development Plans (PDP) for current supervisory team to assist in development of their growth and success
- Analyze and recommend plans for improvement - assess and recommend equipment improvements, methods and process improvements.
Requirements:
- At least of 4 years of GM or plant management experience in high volume commercial laundry
- Lean Six Sigma/Continuous improvement experience is required: someone who has moved the needle in their operations and can demonstrate how they did so.
- Ability to train and develop employees at both the line and in leadership levels: new employees on appropriate operation of the machines, development of line employees into team leads, team leads to production managers, etc.
- Ownership of safety programs in previous positions.
- Proven experience in developing, setting and maintaining programs that ensures productive operations.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
