About the Job: Medical Imaging Specialist
The position of Medical Imaging Specialist is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Workforce Solutions Virens Global. As a key member of our imaging department, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality medical images while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
In this position, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. This includes positioning patients to image required anatomy for optimal results, entering technical parameters into x-ray equipment, and operating various imaging units such as fluoroscopy, diagnostic, surgical, portable, and CT scanners. You will also be expected to maintain accurate and safe operation of imaging equipment, adhering to established safety procedures to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
Furthermore, you will need to develop alternative methods to obtain required images, consult with radiologists in unusual circumstances, and follow established radiation safety policies and procedures to minimize patient or examination problems. Additionally, you will utilize radiation exposure reduction techniques such as proper collimation and lead shielding to minimize radiation exposure, wear personal radiation monitoring devices daily, and perform tasks that ensure patient safety, including using two patient identifiers and following hand hygiene policy.
To succeed in this role, you must have a current ARRT RT (R) credential, a current Oregon license in Radiologic technology, and BLS certification.
