What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Workforce?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Machine Operator to join our team.
Pay Rate: $19/hr
Location: Richmond, VA
Schedules:
- 1st shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
- 2nd shift: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
- 3rd shift: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
Must be able to work all 3 shifts
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Operate machinery efficiently to produce high-quality goods while meeting production deadlines.
- Assist in machine setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Clear machine stops safely and restart equipment as needed.
- Report any safety concerns, accidents, or injuries to a supervisor immediately.
- Review production schedules and prepare raw materials, including packaging materials, roll labels, and pallets.
- Ensure all plates are properly cleaned, dried, and stored after order completion.
- Set up and operate the Broadcast print and flexographic press according to specifications.
- Perform routine quality checks to maintain product standards throughout production.
- Maintain accurate records of production data and document any deviations.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of unused packing materials to keep work areas clean.
- Track and report scrap materials to the Production Supervisor.
- Assist in training new team members to ensure an efficient, cross-trained workforce.
- Support maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Follow and contribute to the company’s 5S standards for workplace organization.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in machine operation or a related manufacturing role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed.
