Job Summary:
The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, and documentation of all incoming shipments to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery. This role involves coordinating with internal departments, suppliers, and carriers to maintain efficient inventory management processes and ensure that all goods are properly accounted for and stored. The Receiving Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining the operational flow of the warehouse and supporting inventory control.
Location: Ashland, VA
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive all incoming shipments, verify their contents against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies and report issues to the appropriate parties.
Documentation:
- Accurately document receiving information in the inventory management system.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts, bills of lading, and receiving reports.
Inventory Control:
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Help manage stock levels by organizing and tracking received goods.
- Coordinate with the inventory team to ensure goods are properly labeled and stored.
Coordination:
- Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to schedule deliveries and resolve any shipment issues.
- Communicate with various internal departments, such as purchasing and production, to ensure the timely receipt and availability of materials.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all receiving activities comply with company policies and safety regulations.
- Participate in regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Other Duties:
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including loading and unloading trucks.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain environment is preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems and/or receiving processes is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
