DESCRIPTION

The Operations Coordinator reports directly to the Social Enterprise Director and Donation Center Lead. This position is responsible for managing production operations to achieve client wardrobe department and retail store product needs, as well as maintaining operational processes and facility standards for the Donation Center and three retail stores.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for selecting excellent quality merchandise for clients served in our Career Success Center and for customers in The Hanger Boutique and The Hanger Outlet stores, as well as providing support for the daily operations of a very busy Donation Center. The job functions include :

  • Excellent, ongoing Clothing and Accessory Quality Control.
  • Ensuring proper rotation of clothing and maintaining operational processes.
  • Clean and organize the Donation Center lobby daily.
  • Complete Safety & Forklift Checklists as needed.
  • Supervision of volunteers effectively to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Coordinating with the Donation Center Lead any maintenance needs and requests of the retail stores, the Donation Center, and Career Success Center.
  • Assisting with retail store coverage on an infrequent and as needed basis.
  • Capture names and photos of individual volunteers and CSR groups and provide to Marketing Department
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies as needed.
  • Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality control, resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
  • Secures warehouse by turning alarms on and testing systems.
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance.
  • Drives Donation Center truck to deliver clothing to outlets unsupervised.
  • Operates forklift as needed on an infrequent basis.

Quality Control / Management :

  • Possess outstanding time management skills
  • Possess outstanding organizational management skills
  • Maintain high standards of quality control for all donations
  • Manage clothing and accessory inventory with input from wardrobe / Client Services department and Retail shop managers
  • Coordinate distribution of excess inventory to other programs and shelters
  • Handle ordering Donation Center supplies such as tagging guns and bullets
  • Coordinate the pack-out logistics of preparing clothing inventory and event supplies for transportation to client and fundraising events
  • Coordinate and assist, on an as needed basis, with the transportation of merchandise to the retail store locations
  • Great knowledge of clothing brands
  • Volunteer and Staff Management :

  • Work with volunteer team and staff to maintain the processes in the Donation Center
  • Coordinate volunteer projects for regular operations and in preparation for events
  • Maintenance :

  • Execute facilities maintenance plan, including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual projects.
  • Responsible for performing and / or coordinating repairs needed at the Donation Center and Retail stores.

  • An eye for detail -You'll take pride in ensuring only quality clothing is distributed by ensuring the donated product is in excellent condition.
  • REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience :

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 years of retail and / or clothing warehouse operations experience
  • Demonstrable experience using customer and sales tracking software
  • Forklift operator certification highly desirable (certification training can be provided)
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Skills Set :

  • Strong customer service skills are essential
  • Knowledge of MS Office - Word, Excel, email and Outlook
  • Proficiency with office equipment
  • Strong organizational skills - ability to prioritize, follow up and use good time management skills, detail oriented
  • Outstanding listening skills : ability to engage donors and volunteers in our work

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION :

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach and carry donated items / merchandise
  • Must be able to load trucks with rear lift
  • Ability to stand 7 - 8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Able to remain in a stationary position (both sitting and standing) 50% of the time or more
  • Able to move about inside the Donation Center (warehouse) to move items, greet donors and volunteers, store / organize donated items, etc.
  • May be required to drive a van or box truck on occasion
  • Must be able to operate computer / office equipment such as computer (monitor, keyboard and mouse) as well as telephone, copy machine, point of sale and donor database software.
  • Frequently communicate with donors and volunteers who have inquiries about the organization's mission and services.
  • BENEFITS :

    This full-time position is eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage for up to 80% coverage on a base plan for the employee as well as generous paid holiday, sick and vacation leave. Life insurance and additional supplemental benefits are also offered.

    The pay range for this role is :

    19 - 20 USD per hour (Irvine, CA)
