POSITION OVERVIEW
American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is looking for an entrepreneurial, passionate, and hands-on Youth Soccer Coordinator to assist and lead the implementation and delivery of grassroots school community initiatives.
You will be focused on building strong and lasting relationships within Communities and Schools, providing wider opportunities for children and young people to interact with the game of soccer.
In this position, the candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a dynamic team environment, support the execution of the organizations professional and youth soccer outreach initiatives, and act as a brand ambassador for the AYSO organization.
The successful candidate will receive best-in-class training and support as well as all the necessary resources to effectively deliver the program objectives.
The American Youth Soccer Organization is the oldest national youth soccer program in the United States and a nonprofit. Our mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs throughout the country which promote a fun, family environment built on the foundation of our Six Philosophies.
ESSENTIAL ROLE FUNCTIONS
The AYSO Office will provide direction and management support to the position to set up an essential structure.
The ideal candidate will:
- Lead and assist soccer coaching programs, before, during, and after school to support the organization's outreach initiatives within school environments.
- Organize age-appropriate activities that aligned with our AYSO PLAY! Schools’ curriculum and methodology.
- Track, record, and report attendance of individual programs.
- Develop strong relationships with school administrators, students, and families.
- Be a brand ambassador for the organization within the community.
- Align with our organization's philosophies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Community-first orientation - desire to build stronger communities through youth-serving programs.
- Passion for the game of soccer, education, and children.
- Enthusiastic, organized, self-starter, confident, professional, and a solutions-based problem-solver.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with and maintain relationships with all levels of parents, players, coaching staff, volunteers, vendors and program partners.
- Ability to work independently, cooperatively, and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to initiate, coordinate and organize schedules/tasks through to completion accurately and on time.
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred.
- Valid state driving license and independent transportation
- Minimum two (2) years coaching experience
- Successfully pass criminal background check and credit check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Vision acuity sufficient to analyze and assure accuracy of written documents.
- Speaking and hearing sufficient to conduct training sessions and match play.

- The work environment is typical of a home office and sometimes field for training and planning events, organizing leagues, groups, and teams.
- Ability to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends)

TIME INVESTMENT & COMPENSATION
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- After school
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
