Allegiant Staffing is now accepting resumes for a Purchasing Agent (Buyer) this position is responsible for the purchase of goods and services necessary for the needs of our client site in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop profitable purchasing strategies
- Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
- Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
- Review supplies to ensure quality
- Monitor stock levels
- Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)
- Keep updated records
- Purchase all items used directly in manufacturing. The Purchasing agent will be need to develop multiple supply source competitive price quotations, blanket orders, OEM price schedules, and where beneficial, supply contracts direct with manager.
- Coordinate and expedite material on order. Must determine the urgency of the situation, expedite the material, and dictate the transportation means necessary
- Identify unused or obsolete material, “robbed” parts, etc., and arrange with the suppliers to acquire required parts to make this material functional, or return this material for credit
- Monitor price increases and notify user departments before these increases take effect. The departments can then review their upcoming requirement, and if needed, enter additional orders.
- Arrange for the repair and return of incorrect or damaged material.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as a purchasing agent or equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
