Production line worker is responsible for maintaining quality of food and documentation for food production line, ensure proper production and packaging with quality, speed and accuracy, communicate with staff on quality issues, identify potential problems, and work in a fast-paced production line. Production line worker is proficient in one or more positions on the production line that is not machine operator or mixer, and able to work reliably with little supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older
- One (1) month production line work experience
Employer Notes:
- This employer will conduct a drug test before first day of employment
- Available to work any shift - flexibility with schedule required; may include overtime
- Stand and walk up to 13 hours
- Continually bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrists and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift
- Occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights and climb steps with ingredients weighing 25 to 65 lbs
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Food safety - lot traceability, product inspection; Notify management of any food safety issue; Awareness of empowerment to act to resolve food safety issues within the scope of work; Conform to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
- Accurately measure and prepare food ingredients used in mass produced food products
- Work on a fast-paced and continuous production line
- Read labels, recipes and work orders in English
- Understand and be familiar with food allergens
- Responsible for documentation and provide signature to verify compliance with all required quality specifications and procedure checks for the assigned area
- Ensure all safety devices are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed
- Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required
- Follow all safety requirements of the position
- Required to wear PPEs such as slip resistant shoes and GMPs such as hair nets, beard nets, lab coats and gloves
- Complete assigned paperwork such as recording lot numbers
- Will frequently perform sanitation on line equipment, parts and surrounding environment
- May require cross-training on various line positions and job rotation
- Follow and improve area processes
- Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) that pertain to your area
- Speak, read and write fluently as it pertains to fulfilling job requirements
- Perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Work in a team environment
- Effectively communicate with and train fellow team members
- Repeatedly lift and carry 25 to 65 lbs. for entire shirt
- Push / pull more than 1,000 lbs. using pallet jack
- Other tasks as assigned
Pay:
Starting at $16.50 per hour ($2.50 shift differential)
