FUNCTION : The Occupational Therapist will offer diagnostic evaluations and treatment for assigned patients, enabling them to achieve their highest levels of independence and functionality within the community.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.
Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
Preferred one year of relevant experience.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Excellent customer service orientation.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Ability to utilize tools for adaptive equipment creation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide consultation on environmental design, adaptive equipment, and patient positioning to prevent complications. Conduct assessments following departmental standards.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient records and reports.
Create and implement treatment programs to enhance patient functionality through therapeutic exercises and activities.
Teach patients adapted techniques and use of adaptive equipment for daily tasks such as meal preparation and self-care.
Instruct patients in the use of prosthetic devices to restore daily routines.
Administer therapies focusing on neurological and sensory integration.
Design and fabricate necessary splints and adaptive equipment based on medical prescriptions.
Provide therapy for patients with traumatic brain injuries to enhance cognitive and organizational skills.
Instruct patients and their families on energy conservation and safety techniques.
Prepare patients for work reintegration through assessment activities.
Develop home programs and provide guidance to patients and families.
Participate in patient support initiatives with the healthcare team.
Effectively communicate in English for all job responsibilities.
Make independent decisions and solve practical issues professionally.
Listen actively, assessing situations objectively while demonstrating integrity and flexibility.
Adhere to community safety protocols and infection control policies.
Comply with resident rights, abuse prevention, and confidentiality standards (HIPAA).
Familiarize with and follow the Employee Handbook policies.
