Job Overview
Seeking dedicated individuals to serve as a nonprofit corporate board members. As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organization towards achieving its mission and objectives. This position requires a heart for serving the worldwide community, including, local, state, national, and international communities. Board Members will collaborate with fellow members to propose, review, and oversee organizational rules and strategies, ensure effective program management, and uphold the highest standards of governance.
Work Location: Baton Rouge, LA, USA, and/or remotely. Interviews may be conducted in person and/or virtually. However, due to the nature of the work, the job could require some in person attendance as well as virtual attendance, but is flexible on a case by case basis depending on availabilty and can be done solely virtually if approved at time of hire.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or Higher in any major, or in lieu the equivalent skills gained by work experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the organization’s programs and initiatives.
- Engage in relationship management with stakeholders, including community partners and service users.
- Help fundraise for investors, donations, and grants.
- Participate in the budgeting processes to ensure financial health and sustainability.
- Contribute to program development.
- Supervise staff and volunteers as needed to ensure effective implementation of programs.
- Attend board meetings regularly and participate actively in discussions and decision-making processes.
- Advocate for policies that enhance the quality of life for individuals served by the organization.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in all organizational activities.
- Other related duties as assigned to efficiently advance the organization.
